ELA Books warmups are designed around whole-class and independent reading. Prompts keep students accountable for their reading, deepen comprehension, and promote literary discussion. They work alongside any novel or text a teacher is currently teaching.
Prompts reference specific chapters, themes, characters, or literary techniques from the text being read. Teachers can use pre-built prompts for popular titles or create their own. Students respond in writing and teachers use responses to guide discussion or identify comprehension gaps.
Prompts align to RL standards including theme, character, figurative language, point of view, and text structure.
